What is opt-in?
|
It is a recycling service available to all residents of Brighton, hove and portslade based on a credit system. You pay 20 up front, we provide you with clear plastic sacks the size of a black bin bag and when you have filled up 4 or more bags we come and pick them up. Opt-in can be as regular or irregular as you like, your credit account will be debited by 1.35 + vat per bag collected.
So if you dont live on one of our “green box streets” or simply wish to recycle more materials than the council take, this scheme is ideal for you!
|
 |
| It is important that you follow the guidelines below. | |
| • | Do not over-fill; leave 6 inches at the top of the sack. |
| • | Clear glass can be bagged with coloured glass. |
| • | Aluminium foil, clothing / textiles, drinks cartons and books can be packed into separate carrier bags and placed on top of your large sacks. |
| • | Once you have at least four filled sacks then please contact Magpie on 01273 684425 or email us to arrange for a pick up. |
| • | Alternatively we can arrange a regular fortnightly / monthly collection. |
| • | You can speak to someone on this number between 9.00am and 4.30pm Mon to Fri or leave a message at any other time. |
| • | You will be given a collection day. Please make sure that your bags are outside your front door (or some other previously arranged location) by 8.30am. |
| • | As well as picking up your full bags, empty replacements will be posted through your letterbox, or left in a pre-arranged location. |
How to sign up:
All you need to do is send a cheque in for 20 with all your details.
Once we have received that someone will drop off some bags and user guide.
Alternatively you can call our office on 01273 684425.
